Photography – Basics and Beyond will help you to understand the basics of photography and to pick up some of the more advanced techniques too. The aim of the course is to provide you with the necessary technical knowledge, inspiration and great new ideas.

The course takes you from a beginner’s level, giving you practical skills for taking better photographs while having fun with your camera. The six modules include an outing and a feedback session.

You will be taken step-by-step through how your camera works to ensure that you can consistently produce excellent photographs.  You are required to complete photographic assignments each week during the course. These are evaluated in your following class.

The fifth module is an exciting outing, with the support of your lecturer, to put into practice all that you have learnt.

To attend the course, you will need either a single lens reflex digital camera (DSLR) or a compact digital camera.  If you have a SLR camera, you will also need a tripod.
