Born in Douglas, Hanna Jacobs grew up surrounded by the beautiful austerity of the Northern Cape. The experiences of growing up in these rural surroundings profoundly influenced her perception of the world and sparked her passion for environmental photography.
The span of her career has presented her with many opportunities in journalism, public relations and lecturing.
Hanna has a degree in Communications as well as two Masters degrees – one in Political Science, as well as an MBA, both from the University of Stellenbosh. Having completed her studies for the Diploma in Professional Photography at the National College of Photography in Pretoria, she has taken up lecturing positions in Photography. She is currently facilitating courses for the National College of Photography in Cape Town. For her, photography has become her passport and the enabling medium for living a creative life. Her work ranges from documentary photography to landscapes including macro photography.
